Big Ideas Small Cojones

There’s no rhyme or reason to the way I structure Thinkering. Usually chaos reigns supreme, and I follow the whim of the moment. I may come up with a gag or an idea, or an urge to draw something specific.

Lunching in downtown Toronto the other day I was watching the CN Tower (tallest freestanding structure in the Western Hemisphere) looming overhead. I made some napkin sketches and decided I wanted to render the tower. Over the years I’ve created many architectural renderings for design firms, builders and property owners.

So I sketched the CN Tower this morning and came up with the idea as the art was taking shape.

Interesting structure, looks like a finger with a ring around it. Great drawing assignment!

May be a finger raised in anger towards the G20 party just down the street.

Great rendering of the CN Tower. Spent a weekend in Toronto a couple of years ago. Beautiful city. Maybe not so much now with the riots 😦
